DMs are of the best features of Instagram that let users send messages to others and share photos, videos, voices, and text messages. It may happen that you don’t want some of your messages anymore and you need to clean up your inbox in order to get rid of spams, or just make some space. But how to delete Instagram DM? If you want to know the answer, keep on reading!
Instagram lets users delete individual messages in a chat or delete the whole conversation, but there is no way to delete all the chats at once in the official app or even select some of them to delete. However, there are some ways that can be helpful!
Actually, Instagram does not let the users delete Instagram DM of the other recipient of a conversation and users can just report received messages. However, you can delete any individual message that you have sent anytime. To delete Instagram DM that you have sent, open the intended conversation, tap and hold the message you want to delete, and tap Unsend. Actually, when you Unsend a DM, you delete it for all people participating in the conversation and it seems just like you have never sent it. Hence, if you have sent a message and don’t want anyone to read it, you can easily delete it before seen.
Another useful Instagram feature is to delete a whole conversation at once. To delete Instagram DMs you have sent and received at a time, open your DM inbox, tap and hold on the conversation you want to delete, and finally tap delete. Remind that when you delete a conversation, you just delete it for yourself and the other recipients of the chat can still access to the chat.
Since Instagram does not support deleting all the messages at a time, you may need to use third-party apps that give you the ability to delete Instagram DMs at once.
